Foundations in Pet Dog Training
Prerequisite Course

When bringing a dog please be sure the dog is crate trained to remain comfortable while awaiting their turn to come out and work. We recommend thinking about a dog you would like to bring - A green dog and pups are always good.
Don't bring a dog with behavior issues such as reactivity, aggressions, separation anxiety, fear, etc. this class is a Foundations Class not a behavior modification class therefore we want to be sure you have a dog suitable for your learning in class.
WCCAC Foundations course comes with a book that is non-replaceable.
Your course will have hands on learning, study, homework and tests.

To accomplish an L1 Certification you will be required to pass this course, to have 300 hours of internship with WCCAC or an approved trainer. You will be required to turn in video of 5 detailed case studies within 8 months of completing this course.

Puppy Development
Raising A Puppy

Puppies just aren't as easy as one thinks. There is an enormous amount of knowledge one should know when training puppies and when teaching a client to train their puppy. Creating lifelong behavior issues is unfortunately a very easy thing to do without proper knowledge in puppy development. This course will give you confidence to help clients in picking the right dog for their lifestyle, picking a proper breeder or rescue & picking the right puppy. Students will be given the knowledge to ensure puppies have the best start at life from critical development and socialization to manners and obedience. Students will be confident in helping owners set up their home and provide an optimal environment for their new pup.

Your course will have hands on learning, study, homework and tests. To accomplish a WCCAC Puppy Certification (PC) you will be required to have your WCCAC L1 Certification. You will also be required to pass this course, intern 100 hours with WCCAC or an approved trainer and turn in video of 3 detailed case studies which should include puppy exposure, puppy socialization and one on one training program within 6 months of completing this course.

Tools of the trade can be the most controversial aspect of dog training. We understand why! Having diversity in training is essential but flat out abuse - is NOT part of that equation. Students will learn the proper way to use a variety of tools that will aid them in training that could lead to possibly even saving the life of a dog one day. Having high quality tools is essential, we will cover brand options as well.

To accomplish a WCCAC Tools Certificate of Completion (T) you will be required to have your WCCAC L1 Certification, will be required to intern with WCCAC or approved trainer for 200 hours and turn in video of 3 detailed case studies within 6 months of completing this course. This course gives students the knowledge and hands on practical training to work with dogs through a variety of different game outlets such as spring pole, wall climb, flirt pole, tug, ball, etc.
